There was a Clematis Montana here when we arrived and we added an Wisteria
"Issai" which we brought here from our previous home. I had only just got this plant when we sold our house so I dug
it up and put it into a very larg pot and re-planted it here. It did sulk for about a year but has quite got over its
ordeal.

This picture was taken from the drive which runs parallel and looking up to
the woodland part of the garden. It was a wonderful suprise having cleared this area of all the ivy that was choking
the ground that when it was removed Daffodil bulbs by the score appeared together with bluebells, wild garlic and solomon's
seal. All of these must have lain dormant for years and being released has given us a marvellous show early on in the
year.

I bought this straddle stone at a local garden centre and placed it at the
corner of the long boarders. I painted it with live yogurt to enclourage lichens to take up residence. About an
hour later I noticed that the Doberman puppy was missing. There she was licking off all the yogurt! The hardy
geranium to the left of the stone is called Rozanne and is a very good doer. It will give at least two flushes of flours
if you cut it back hard and in some cases three. If you leave it then you will get a lesser show but it lasts from June
till the end of September. That is what I call value for money.
